The first book published by Landscape Learn, Conversations on Urban Forestry, by Johanna Gibbons was launched at the end of 2019 and is now exclusively available from Landscape Learn or J & L Gibbons.

Urban forests are a dynamic organic structure of remarkable biodiversity and biomass embedded within the fabric of a city. They mark time through the changing seasons and natural cycles of growth and decay. The urban forest is an essential part of the character and heritage of the urban and peri-urban environment. The urban forest is of interest not just to the landscape architect, scientist, artist, architect, engineer, planner, enthusiast, community activist and environmental campaigner, but also to the 5-year-old who plants a tree and watches it grow through their lifetime. Jo Gibbons explores the implicit interconnection of people and trees in the city through a number of conversations with extraordinary individuals who champion the urban forest. In the face of a climate change emergency these conversations highlight through different lenses, how urban forestry is not only part of the solution, is something that as individuals we can all contribute to, creating a collective capacity for caring for our ecosystem.
