Time & Territory is a visual essay of J & L Gibbons’ designs from the first 21 years of practice celebrating the ecocentric approach. This portfolio book, published in 2007 and designed by Pentagram, is structured by overlapping layers of research and practice. It illustrates both strategic and detailed considerations with work grouped by typology: Field, Lawn, Street, Region, Park and Plot. It includes a number of invited essays that highlight some of the specialist fields of knowledge the studio embraces in all of their work and illustrates productive collaborations across the arts and sciences, and multi-disciplinary practice with technical experts, builders and makers.
